Shopping day in Paris

Actually, shopping day was a bit of a bust.

We started out by collecting our Paris Passes. It took us half an hour to find the store after we got to where we thought it was. Then we went looking for the needlework shop but I typed in their mail sales address and that took us on three Metro lines across town on a wild goose chase. Turns out the store is about 300 meters from our hotel.

Anyway, Shirl found a couple of doll house stores near it and had a pretty good time. I went off in search of Rue Drouot, also nearby, which has several stamp stores on it. But they were all closed for the weekend or for vacation. From the prices of things in the windows I don’t think I would have bought much anyway.

There is a grand shopping center called LaFayette not too far away and I went there to take pictures. It was insanely crowded with mainly oriental and Arabic tourists and every shop is a name brand designer store. They didn’t have a Value Village though.

Did I mention all this was in the pouring rain? Our concert tonight was cancelled since it was on an open air venue but the refund has already been posted to our account.
